Camp Stations

Man Defense
Players learn proper defensive stance position as well as man to man defensive principles.  When playing man to man, players must be in Ball, Deny or Help position during all camp games.

Ballhandling
Players are taught the basics of ballhandling and passing.  We work on individual ballhandling drills that players can work on alone as well as show them the correct form for passing to teammates. To see one of the drills we use at camp click on the video below.

Perimeter Moves
One of the moves we teach players at camp is the "Rip Through and Attack" drill. To see the players in action performing this drill, check out the video below.

 Shooting

We teach players the following shooting form: finger on the valve, wrinkle in the wrist, 'T' with the thumbs (then spread them a little).  Feet should be shoulder width apart with knees slightly bent. As players release the ball, we want them to have their elbow above their eye and their shooting hand in the cookie jar. To see the players in action performing this shooting method, check out the video below.

Speed/Agility

Players are taught drills that increase their speed, quickness and agility. We use some SPARQ equipment at this station.  Players perform ladder drills, lane slides, weighted ball toss, hurdles and vertical jumps. To see some SPARQ drills in action check out the video below.

 Rebounding

Players are taught that. "When the ball goes up, the hands go up. With thumbs to the ears and fingers to the sky." We work on the basics of block out technique and keeping your man out of the lane.

Post Play

Players are taught the following moves: drop step, jump hook, up and under, Tim Duncan move, power layup, the Yao, and the Al Jefferson move. To see NBA player Carlos Boozer perform some of these moves click on the video below.

 Footwork*

At this station, we work on drills that will help players be comfortable pivoting on either foot on the offensive end of the court.  We also focus on the two foot jump.

Chalk Talk*

Classroom discussion with either a high school or collegiate coach.  Coaches discuss plays, drills, watch video and have Q&A sessions with the players.
